Dean Burns opened the first Captain Clean facility in 1973 in Stockport, Iowa.  His son, Rod Burns, opened a second facility in Ottumwa, Iowa, in 1994.  Captain Clean serves all of Southeast Iowa and is certified by The Clean Trust (formerly known as the Institute of Inspections, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification).  Captain Clean is also a member of the Restoration Industry Association, and the Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians. Captain Clean is fully insured.All employees are subject to pre-employment and random drug screensas well as criminal background checks.Training is ongoing to keep our company up-to-date on all the best our industry has to offer.

Who We Are

DEAN BURNS, Co-Owner,opened the 1st Captain Clean facility in Stockport, IA, in 1973. Dean is IICRC certified in Fire & Smoke Restoration. Dean has also successfully completed the Lead Safety course for Renovation, Repair. & Painting.

 ROD BURNS, Co-Owner,

opened a 2nd Captain Clean facility in Ottumwa, IA, in 1994.  Rod is IICRC certified in Water Damage Restoration, Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning, Applied Structural Drying, Fire & Smoke Restoration, Carpet Cleaning, and is a Journeyman Textile Cleaner.

JANE SCALES, Office Manager, 

is IICRC certified in Carpet Cleaning, Water Restoration, and Fire & Smoke Restoration. Jane also holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

ROGER SCALES, Supervisor,

is IICRC certified in Water Damage Restoration, Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning, Applied Structural Drying, and Applied Microbial Remediation. Roger has also successfully completed the Lead Safety course for Renovation, Repair, & Painting.
